Wandering Stars Come Home

Welcome to Healing Winds

In the memoir, Destined to Ride the Healing Winds of Heaven, a grown woman from Southeastern Montana experiences miraculous encounters with the God of the universe. She is taken back in time to find her, child within, trapped in a frozen time warp of a chaotic and painful past, filled with losses common to Native American children of that era.

Annie MorningStar emerges from these supernatural encounters with a new identity, the dignity of her Native American heritage restored, a passion to see the brokenhearted healed, and those held captive by ghosts of the past set free by the same healing winds that touched her life. As you journey with her, just maybe, you will catch your own healing current and come out changed as well.

About the Author

Annie MorningStar, aka, Jeri Hilton-Snell, was born in Browning, Montana on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. As a direct descendant of Mountain Chief of the Blackfeet Indian Nation, she traces her Native ancestry back six generations.  She writes under her Native name to honor her heritage.

As a child, many losses left her without a permanent abode, eventually landing her in an Indian mission boarding school for several years on the Crow Reservation at St. Xavier, Montana. Memories of a chaotic  childhood morphed into a frozen time warp, where they remained until the God of the Universe visited her with His healing mercies.

Years later, Jeri began sharing her healing journey through Christian venues, where she was encouraged to tell what others have called her amazing story   in a written format to reach more people.

Jeri was married just shy of sixty years. Her husband, James went home to be with the Lord on November 21, 2023. They were blessed with three children, six grandchildren, and three great grandsons. She lives in Montana and is retired as a RN and hospital pastoral care associate.

Annie MorningStar's memoir, Destined to Ride the Healing Winds of Heaven, helps fulfill her passion to point others to a miracle-working God, who can take the shattered pieces of our lives and create a meaningful life filled with destiny and purpose.

Enjoyable and Transformative Read

"I thoroughly enjoyed this easy read. I could hardly put it down. As an author and faith-based life coach myself this book is captivating. Annie transparently shares horrific, troubling events from her Native American upbringing that would leave anyone in a tangled mess. She then shares how her relationship with a supernatural, living God brought her out of anger, depression, anxiety, and health issues that otherwise would have plagued her entire life. She chose to trust, believe, obey God, and renew her mind with His Word. I recommend all to read it, it’s bound to give you new perspective and changed life. Thank you for giving this gift of your testimony to the world Annie MorningStar."

"Annie Morningstar’s memoir is a trail of ink that takes the reader through forgiveness of childhood trauma, betrayal, abandonment and adolescent rebellion.  At the age of four she cowered under a dresser playing with a harmonica as her mother lay dying.  Annie remembers her mother telling others to ‘let her play’ when they tried to shush the child’s play.  Placed in a home where love read her need for security, her little bed was positioned by a window so that she could watch her mother’s star in heaven each night.  She would slip out into the occasional rain shower to spin and pose for God to take her picture in the lightning flashes.  Too soon fate plucked her from that safe harbor and placed her in an Indian boarding school staffed by souls insensitive to the needs of a growing, grieving child.

When we used this book as a supplement to a Bible study on forgiveness, the women stepped up to face their broken pasts as they related to Annie’s story of flashbacks that brought her to her knees in forgiveness.  Annie summarized her experience with mentors praying for her on the 50th anniversary of her mother’s death saying, 'That day I learned that grief is meant to be shared.  It is one hurdle we cannot get over alone.'  Her testimony of strength in the wake of forgiveness planted seeds of hope and victory in those with relatable painful childhood and growing up years.  There is tremendous power released in these pages, both for those who seek help forgiving and for those who seek to learn more about the scars created by the dark side of life and healing from their pain.  Readers will be forever changed, whether spiritually or intellectually.  Destined to Ride the Healing Winds of Heaven is a powerful read."

Review for Destined to Ride the Healing Winds of Heaven

“In reviewing Jeri Snell’s book Destined to Ride the Healing Winds of Heaven, I was impressed with her candid approach to share God’s healing work in her life. She opens the windows of her soul to reveal the hurt and abuse she lived through as a little girl. Then she shows us her healing restoration in Christ. The power of her overcoming testimony is a light to help others on their journey to wholeness. The prayers at the end of each chapter carry a healing grace for the reader. Thank you Jeri, aka Annie MorningStar for pointing us to the Bright and Morning Star, Jesus, in these pages of your life."
